Empty the cache of your web browser

Each web browser has a cache system, that helps speed up the transfer of data, without going into too much technical jargon, the cache is small and very fast temporary storage.

Thanks to your cache webpages are faster. But this cache system is not always advantageous when you are creating your own website with emyspot.

 

Why should I empty my cache

 

Even if the cache has uncountable advantages, there are some significant disadvantages as well. You cache can become "corrupted," this means that the data is already stored with erroneous information, and it can also cause bugs (a feature that keeps failing for example).

But also, if your cache is not up to date you will have problems as well. For example. you may have changed the color of your text or a photo, but it does not display correcting. This is most assuredly due to your web browser cache.

It is necessary to know how to clean up, and empty your cache as soon as you notice weird behavior with your site.

Empty the cache - Google Chrome

No matter what version of Google Chrome the process should be rather similar.

  • To start, you must click on Menu Google Chrome situated on the top right of your web browser.
  • Next, go to More tools and or Clear browsing data.
  • In the box that appears, click "Cookies and other site and plug-in data" and "Cached images and files."
  • Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete.
  • Choose "beginning of time" to delete everything.
  • Click Clear browsing data.

Empty the cache - Firefox

The procedure is similar for all versions of Firefox, certain titles may change.

  • Start by pushing on the Alt key of your keyboard.
  • Next go to the Tool menu where you will find the option Erase the recent history (Keyboard shortcut : Ctrl+Shift+Del).
  • Chose the dates you will erase all.
  • Next click Details to tick the box for Cache.
  • Then clcik click erase now to empty your cache.

  • Go to the Tool menu  Menu Outils Internet Explorer > Safety > Delete browsing history.... NOTE: You can also access this menu by holding Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
  • Make sure to uncheck Preserve Favorites website data 
  • Check both Temporary Internet Files and Cookies 
  • Then click Delete.

  • Click on the Safari menu on the top left of the page.
  • In the menu that opens you will find the option Empty the cache
  • A pop-up window will ask for confirmation, confirm the demand

Version windows

  • Click on the tool menu.
  • Choose the option Reinitialise Safari.
  • Tick the box Empty memory cache
  • A pop-up window will ask for confirmation, confirm the demand
