Add social buttons to your website

You have taken the time to make a website, but many use social network platforms to market their websites activities.  When you want your website visitors to see all your web activity, you can display the traditional icons on your website or in the side menu to encourage your visitors to get engaged. The benefits of social buttons don't stop there. Social buttons create cross-referencing as well, which in turn helps robots and search engines verify your website and can better your position on search engines.

 

Adding social network buttons to the website

When you are logged into your website manager, you will go to the menu Settings > Global Settings > Plugins. This is where you define the default settings for your site plugins like comments, social sharing tools, and site access. Go to the section titled Social networking and enable the option.

Now you can choose the style of the buttons from the easy personnalisation form that appears. In the form, you will have the choice between icons, buttons without counters, and buttons with counters horizontally or vertically. Examples are pictured below.

Adding social networking buttons to the side menu

This section will walk you through how to add social networking buttons to the side menu.

There are two types of social networking buttons -The buttons that site visitors use to share your content and the buttons site visitors use to access your various social network pages. Go to Settings > Menu and add a widget to the side menu of your choice.

Go to Settings > Menu and add a widget to the side menu of your choice.

Find the widget titled Social sharing, in the category social networking. From there you will add the networks of your choice (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Email...). This will allow site visitors to share your pages using their personal account. These shares help your content gain a reputation and are a great tool to making your site more interactive.

Save the widget and be sure to save again on the menu page. It is extremely important to save twice in order for this feature to work.

Buttons to your social network page.

Go to Settings > Menu and add a widget to the side menu of your choice. Go to the Widget category titled Social networking. You have the option to display a link to your Facebook page with an icon or Twitter page with an icon. There is also the option to display your Facebook or Twitter page live. With features to edit the amount of posts displayed. All you need to do is put in the website address of your account and now site visitors can add you as a friend or follow your page.

If ever you find the social networking widgets limited you can use the Free Zone (Visual Editor) to add exactly what you want. Save the widget and be sure to save again on the menu page. It is extremely important to save twice in order for this feature to work.
