TargetPlace an anchor in a page

Place an anchor in a pageAn anchor is an invisible point which allows you to create a link in a specific place in a page. Anchor linking is perfect for when you have long pages and an anchor allows you to link to anywhere in the page and avoid using the scroll bar. For example, you can link directly to the bottom of the page or create menus with anchors.

Here is a tutorial showing you how to create an anchor in a page.

Create an anchor

  • Click on the anchor icon Anchor icon? to place in your content.
  • Choose a name for your anchor that you will use later. Make it memorable and different from the others
  • Place you anchor to mark the point in your page.

The next step is to create a link to this specific point in your page, to the anchor.

  • In the drop-down menu that will appear scroll down to select an anchor. Click on your anchor title and the navigator will link to the anchor in the future.

Create a hypertext link

Make a link towards an anchor in the same page different block

To easily create pages, we recommend using the page builder tool, and more specifically the black and column method. So you can create anchors from multiple blocks within the same page, use the following method.

  • Create an anchor as seen previously
  • To create a link towards the anchor: add a hypertext link and add #anchor-name in the "URL" field as you add the link.

You can also use the option CSS by applying an ID(an anchor). We invite you to go to this tutorial to learn how to use classes and IDs on page blocks.

Link to an anchor placed in a different page

You could create an anchor in a page and link towards this anchor from another page.

Anchor to the top of page

Try it out - We recommend an anchor to the top of the page

You can create a link to the top of the page by placing an anchor (as we have seen together in this tutorial) but you could also do this by placing # in the URL, this automatically directs the link to the top of the page.
