How to insert the registered trademark symbol (R in a circle)
Getting started
How do you insert the registered trademark symbol (®) on a website?
Depending on your activity, you may need to insert certain symbols in the content of your web pages, such as the "R" in a circle, more commonly called the registered trademark symbol.
This website-building tutorial explains how to do it using keyboard shortcuts and the tools of the manager.
Meaning of the registered trademark symbol
The "R" in a circle is used to show that the preceding word is a registered trademark.
To use this symbol, your trademark must have been registered with the national trademark office of your country (in the UK, the Intellectual Property Office).
Registering your trademark helps to protect it and offers very strong legal certainty.
Insert the registered trademark symbol
To add this symbol to your content, use the following keyboard shortcuts:
On Windows: Alt + 0174 (on the numeric keypad)
On Mac OS: Option (Alt) + R
You can also select this special character directly from a visual editor.
To do so, click the omega symbol Ω in the toolbar (see the screenshot) and select the registered trademark symbol in the pop-up window that appears.
Or simply copy and paste the character in question: ®

In the same vein, you can insert other special characters with keyboard shortcuts or the Insert special character option of the visual editor.
