Getting started

How do you delete the history in your browser?

When visitors search the internet, their web browser records all the pages they view. Online stores, video content, forums: all the pages are kept and can be seen from the browser options.

The browsing history works on computers and on smartphones alike.

Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari or Opera: find out in this tutorial what to do to delete your browsing history. Clearing the history of a browser also avoids searches being influenced by the sites you have already visited.

Why clear the browsing history?

It is recommended to clear the browsing history regularly. Deleting it helps keep users' privacy when someone browses from a computer that anyone can use. The history can keep a user's login details and other strictly personal sensitive data.

What is the browsing history for?

Every action a user takes on the internet is recorded by the browser. This storage is done to optimise the experience of people searching on search engines. The browsing history can be opened with a keyboard shortcut or from the browser settings. The data is sorted in chronological order.
