Integrate your blog into your site

When you enable the blog, you have the choice to make it the homepage of your website, or you can add it as a complement to your other content. To perfect the blog's accessibility, make it ergonomic, and have clear navigation use the widgets specialized for the blog.

Let's see the widgets and options that will be useful when you make a blog.

Display the latest posts

A widget that allows you to automatically display your latest posts on your blog anywhere on your website.

  • To use this widget in a page, add a block or a column. Click on Other Widgets > Blog > Latest blog posts. Choose the number of posts you wish to display and Save
  • To use this widget in a side menu, go to Settings > Menus, click on Add a widget > Blog > Latest blog posts Choose the number of posts you wish to display and Save

The widget updates automatically. We used the widget to show the last 8 blog posts of the emyspot blog.

Display the blog categories

As we saw in the section: write and manage your posts. When you write a post you should put it in a category. There is a widget that displays a "list of categories "which allows site visitors to discover your categories and it's associated posts.

  • To use this widget in a page, add a block or a column. Click on Other Widgets > Blog > Blog categories and Save
  • To use this widget in a side menu, go to Settings > Menus, click on Add a widget > Blog > Blog categories and Save

This widget allows your site visitors to see at a glance what your blog offers, and we have an example of the list of categories of the emyspot blog.

Other widgets perfect to use to show off your blog

There are other widgets specialized to the blog (like the ability to display a tag cloud, author list, search engine etc etc) and other widgets that may be interesting on a blog. For example, activate the "Similar posts" option to propose related posts to your blog readers, this is done automatically suggesting articles from the same theme.

Display the latest comments

This widget allows you to automatically display the last comments left on your blog. Perfect for developing interaction with your site visitors and spark discussion!

The free zone widget allows you to add the text you want in your menu, ideal for creating an editorial or presentation insert that is displayed in the side menu for site visitors to consult.
